Distraction
We about to celebrate an anniversary at our house. Three years ago this month we bought this house and began renovating our kitchen. My goal when we started was to have it done before we moved in. I took a week of work with The Man and we went to work. We gutted the whole damn thing. It had this crazy stuff on the walls called Z-brick. Whoever invented that shit should be beaten about the head. It was this tar stuff that they slathered all over the walls and then stuck parts of bricks into. At first we thought it was just a panel thing that we could pry right off. Man, were we wrong. We scraped and heated and scraped and killed the plaster and scraped some more. We also tore out all the cabinets the flooring and the ceiling. The usual crap that you don't plan for happened, like having to re-wire the entire eletrical system in the kitchen- but we were still on track. Then my father-in-law got invovled and it came to a screaching halt. I'm not blaming it all on him, we were tired and any excuse to chill with the work was welcome, but he didn't help matters. (It has taken him 25 years to renovate the house they live in, and he's still not done!) Needless to say, we moved in without it being finished. I insisted that it be done before Thanksgiving. Then it was Christmas. Then by Easter. Well, ladies and gentlemen, three years later it is still at the same point that it was when we stopped. Uuuuggghhhhh! I have dreams (literally) about a wonderful finished kitchen. When I wake up, they turn into nightmares 'cuz they're so far from the truth!!! Well, I'm putting my foot down. This kitchen will be done before Thanksgiving. Or at least Christmas. Or maybe Easter? I can only hope(and nag).
See, you didn't even notice the lack of knitting, did you?
